Student and Family Support Office - Algoma District School Board

Student and Family Support Office

The Student and Family Support Office is a dedicated team within the Algoma District School Board (ADSB) that helps families navigate questions or concerns related to their child’s education, particularly when an issue is complex or cannot be addressed at the school level.

Start with Your Child’s School

If your question or concern relates to your child’s education or school and you have not yet had an opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher or principal, we encourage you to do so before contacting the Student and Family Support Office. More information can be found on our Student and Family Support page.

In most cases, the quickest and most effective way to address a concern is through direct communication with your child’s school.

How the Student and Family Support Office Can Help

Our staff can help connect you with your Area Superintendent and support matters that may require further escalation. We can also help direct your inquiry to the appropriate departments for support related to special education, mental health and well-being, transcript requests, school registration, and capital projects updates such as new school builds and renovations. These are just a few examples of how the Student and Family Support Office can help.

Matters Managed Through Other Processes

If your concern relates to a human rights matter, it will be addressed through its respective confidential processes.

While the Student and Family Support Office does not oversee or manage human rights matters, our team can help guide you on how to get started.

If you already have a matter underway through that channel, that office will continue to serve as your primary point of contact while your inquiry is under review.
